Princess V aims to support self initiated development of education & information access amongst young women in South Africa (and the developing world). Princess V’s first project was founded in 2012 as Young Womens’ Group Khayelitsha. This was a pilot project with a group of teenage girls, meeting on a monthly basis to research and co-create a workshop program to address issues and challenges facing these young women in their daily lives. Themes such as ‘beauty’ were interrogated - unpacked & re- defined according to a new perspective which challenges mass media & consumer based ideals.
Princess_V is currently in residence with young women from Lawrence House refugee home for orphaned youth, Woodstock, Cape Town,SA.
